Ms Goodwin- startup at Tilburg
The textile museum at Tilburg offers techincal possibilities beyond my imagination and my first week of the European Textile Trainee program will be spent indulging into the world of bindings, knitstructures, stitches and lazer-cutting techiques. To me it seems to be every textile enthusiats dream come true. The real challenge is not what to do, but how to limit one self. I will be keeping a blogg for the entire durance of the trainee program. In general, my area of work investigates a relationship between art, social issues, public and privat space. By exploring various artistic methods I attempt to create work that relates to everyday life. Inspiration for my projects often derive from the sphere of craft and textile traditions. To be thruthful I feel more condused by all the possibilities available and I’m curious to what I will end up doing, for the moment I have no idea of what this will bring. Perhaps Ill take the advice of our tutor Tessa from Eindhoven Design academy (who we will talk with once a week) to go for a technical frenzy.
